Did you know that your diet is a major part of weight loss or maintaining your weight? It is much easier to cut calories than to burn them off. Eating healthier foods also helps build muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, if you’re watching your weight on the scale, don’t let that deter you from your workout program. In the long run it gives you a leaner look, move easier, and burn more calories 😉
For most individuals this is the ratio for exercise & diet:
65% diet
25% exercise
10% genetics
Don’t go with a diet you dread, otherwise you’ll hate it and once your done with your diet, you more than likely will gain the weight back. It’s important to find a balance between exercising, eating healthy, and also still having a piece of cake (occasionally).
One of the easiest things to start with is no more fast food or sodas, even diet sodas!
Don’t forget your dog either. Dogs are becoming more and more obese because they are eating what their owners eat. Being overweight can cause their joints to ache and harder to get up. Remember dogs can’t express to us in words if their bodies are hurting so it’s important to feed them a well-balanced diet to maintain their overall health…. meaning little to no table scrapes/treats. Daily walks around the neighborhood and games of catch are easy ways to stay active with your dog.
Not to mention they love getting some fresh air, especially if they are home all day. An active mind + an active body = a happy dog!
